Obituary of Earl William Docherty
Earl passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer. His love for the outdoors and hunting often took him places to live, work and play in Alberta and other places such as the Yukon. Fondness for the territory prompted the name of their special Dalmatian dog, Yukon, who was his co-pilot along with their other special dog, Ike.
Friends, neighbours, hunting buddies, nephews, nieces, his children and grandchildren spent many hours with Earl on his adventures.
Earl was an honest, hardworking businessman who was known and respected throughout the oilfield industry, hunting circles and surrounding communities. He will be remembered fondly, with a smile, for his famous pranks/jokes, whisker rubs and tickle sessions.
Earl is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie; son Tim Docherty (Alayna); daughters Holly (Wayne) Buelow; Pam Kullman (Todd); Kerry Docherty (Patrick) and son in law Bob Kullman.
Grandchildren: Cole, Jake, Brady, Rayne, Abraham-Earl; Sammi (Allen), Jessica; Kevin, Bill, Jamie, Bradley, Kimberly; Sean and Ruby. Survived by his brother Ken (Sherry) Docherty; sisters Gwen (Willie) Rempel, Laurie (Fred) Schreiner and brother in law Pat Yandeau; 24 nieces and nephews; and many friends. Earl was predeceased by his parents James & Lola Docherty; sister Myrnel Yandeau and grandson Dan Buelow.
