Alexander James Walker It is with heavy hearts we announce Sandy’s peaceful passing on December 17, 2011 at the age of 53. Born in Orangeville Ontario, Sandy lived much of his life in the surrounding area, near his family. He relocated to Stettler Alberta in ‘99 where he was diagnosed with spinal injury. Often seen strolling in his bright yellow jacket with his little dog Quita, Sandy always gave a quiet nod to passers by. So much kindness in that understated nod... We love you and will miss you always Sandy. Still, we know in our hearts that you are healed and surrounded by family, strolling the paths of heaven. Predeceased by his mother Audrey Walker (Brampton, Ont), father Alexander Walker (Ont) and brother Daniel Walker (Sauble Beach, Ont). Sandy is survived by his sister Kathy (Doug) MacDougall of Erskine, brother Tim (Theresa) Walker of Stettler, sister Laura (Jim) McCutcheon (Ont), sister Marty (Scott) Goodison (Ont), brother Herb Walker (Ont), brother Matt (Marg) Walker (Ont) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family in both Stettler and Ontario as well as his loved pets Quita & Peety. A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says she is gone. Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large now as when I last saw her. Her diminished size and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her. And just at that moment, when someone at my side says she is gone, there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout There she comes! That is what dying is. An horizon and just the limit of our sight. Lift us up O Lord, that we may see further.
