Born Alexandra (Sandy) Hazel Clare Brotherston on August 26, 1935 in Calgary, Alberta to parents Lorne and Marion Brotherston. In 1939 Sandy was adopted by Uncle Russell and Aunt Ann Smith. Sandy had life-long loving relationships with sisters Lorna and Fay. She lived through the war with brothers, Lawrence, Vern and sister Elizabeth. In June 1952 she married Douglas Konschuh. Together they had 7 children, Scheryl, Michele, Peter, Debbie, Dale, Laura and Vern. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Terasa, Phillip, Matthew, Leilah, Danielle, Nicole, Jared, Christina, Deanna, Jesse, Eric, Michael, Adam, Casandra. She was further blessed with 8 great grandchildren, Noah, Jacob, Tara, Dominic, Giovanni, Nova, Cynthia and Makenna. Sandy is pre-deceased by sons Peter and Vern and sister Lorna, brothers Lawrence, Vern, Ron, Ted, Archie and Sid. Sandy grew up in Milo Alberta, lived in Cluny, Indus and Calgary. In 1966, Sandy moved herself and seven children to Victoria, B.C. In 1969 Sandy met her soul mate/love of her life Stanley John Florchyk. They had four years of living, loving, laughing and fishing together. In 1989 she moved to Kelowna to be closer to her sister Fay. Sandy then moved back to her home province of Alberta, to Mirror where she lived for many years. While living in Mirror, Sandy published the Mirror Informer for nine years, was on the museum board and was involved in many community activities. Sandy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, partner and a loyal friend. Sandy will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
