Obituary of Larrissa Lee Nielsen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larrissa Lee Nielsen (nee Ward), after fighting a nine month battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at 3:00 AM on September 18, 2018 with family by her side at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor, Alberta at the age of 32 years. Larrissa was born on July 22, 1986 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. She attended school in Castor then spent time in Coronation, Alberta, Rockglen, Saskatchewan and Lacombe, Alberta before settling down in Mattawa, Ontario. She loved the outdoors and spent a lot of her spare time quading, fishing and camping. Most of all, she loved being a mother and took great pride and joy in her four beautiful children. Larrissa is survived by her precious children: Nicholas (9), Alaisa (8), Riley (3) and Brooklyn (2); her husband Blake Nielsen; her father Donald Johnson; mother Brenda Gregor; sisters Becara (Stepháne) Rocque, Amber (Justin) Johnson; nephews: Damyen, Zackary and Shayden Rocque; niece Hailey Johnson; other family and friends. A Celebration of Larrissa’s Life will he held in the summer of 2019 and will be announced at a later date. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Hanton, the nurses and staff at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital for their excellent care of our loved one during her stay there. We would also like to thank our family, friends and members of our communities for all of their support over the past few months.
