Obituary of Bruce Edward Gallagher

Bruce Edward Gallagher passed away suddenly in the Drumheller hospital on January 18, 2018 at the age of 65 years. Bruce was born on August 7,1952 in Hanna, Alberta he was the eighth child of eleven born to Kelly and Eleanor Gallagher. Bruce grew up on the family farm five and a half miles north west of Endiang. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing ball, golfing, hockey, fishing and hunting. He worked in construction and became a great hoe operator. He married in 1984 and to this union Jessica Dale was born born in May 1985. After his breakup he moved back to Albert in 1991. In 1992 he met the love of his life Joyce Campbell and to this union Leslie Ann was born in April 1996. He will always be remembered for his cooking and great hoe operating. Bruce also loved carpentry and playing cards. Bruce always took time out to build something, he was a good carpenter. He loved to help his brother farm the land in the spring and fall. He never passed up an opportunity to go fishing with his buddies. In 2014 Bruce and Joyce started a new endeavor purchasing the Byemoor Hotel where he enjoyed cooking. He also enjoyed watching the cooking channel where he came up with new ideas for desserts and food to experiment on his regular customers. Bruce is survived by his loving wife Joyce; daughters Jess and Leslie; sisters: Irene Brooker, Shirley (Jim) Lumsden, Lynn (Steve) Anderson, Lorraine (Kris) Peterson and Bev Gallagher; brothers: Wayne (Patsy) Gallagher, Gordie (Roxy) Gallagher and Ken Gallagher; sisters-in-law: Joann Gonda (Dean), Betty Campbell; brothers-in-law: Bob (Janet) Campbell, Randy (Corey) Campbell and Dennis (Wendy) Campbell; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Kelly in 1972 and Eleanor in 2014; brothers Arnold in 1956 and Chester in 1962; father-in-law Les Campbell in 1993 and mother-in-law Shirley Campbell in 2017; sister-in-law Sandy in 2014; brothers-in-law John Gonda; Sonny Brooker. A Celebration of life was held at the Byemoor Community Hall, Byemoor, Alberta on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Jack Hayden officiating.
