Obituary of George Alfred Joseph Brisbois

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of George, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. George was born on the family farm near Antler, Saskatchewan on September 2, 1935 and passed away January 12, 2018 in Castor, Alberta. George was the eldest son of Killien (Mike) and Annice Brisbois and the big brother to August, Lawrence, Joseph, Andrew, Gerald, David and foster siblings George, Raymond and JoAnne Mills. George left home at the very young age of 12 to begin working to help provide for his family. His first job was milking cows and delivering the milk and he retired from working as a driller on the oil rigs at the age of 65. George and Dianne (Taylor) would have celebrated 54 years of marriage on February 8. Christopher George was born in 1965 and married Bonnylou Adams (Ashley and Warren), Carey Kieth followed four years later and married Jennifer Bailey (Micheal) and then Gaylene Joyce was born in 1973 and is married to Les Smith (Hudson and Greyden); his siblings: Lawrence (Caroline), Joseph (Jean), Gerald, David (Faye) and sister in law Lucy and Teresa; nieces, nephews, other family and friends George was many things, but first and foremost he was a family man, fiercely proud of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents Killien and Annice, his brothers August and Andy, foster brothers Georgie and Raymond, brother in law Ray and sister in law Peggy and infant granddaughter Jessica. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Castor Community Hall at 2:00 PM. Donations will be gratefully accepted by Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your own choice.
