Randy James Duncan passed away on September 19, 2017 at the age of 61 years in the Coronation Long Term Care Centre. He was born in the Castor Hospital on September 2, 1956 just a few short minutes before his twin brother, Ross, a fact he was always proud of. Randy graduated from the Castor High School in 1974 and went on to Calgary to work road construction. He returned to Halkirk and became employed by the Alberta Wheat Pool working his way up to manager. He served the communities of Halkirk, Gadsby and lastly Botha. During this time, Randy made many friends and became a respected grain buyer. Randy was a hard worker, but was always ready for a good game of crib. Randy loved to curl and bonspiel (as was pretty good at both of these). He loved cats. He cheered for the Calgary Flames and the Calgary Stampeders. When Randy’s health started to fail at an early age, he was hospitalised and later admitted in the Coronation Long Term Care, of which he was a resident for the past 11 years. He leaves to mourn his loss his father, James Duncan of Points West in Stettler; brothers - Ross (Karen) of Castor and Murray (Linda) of Stettler and brother in law Larry Jeske of Red Deer; 4 children – Derek (Rhonda), Heather, Dallas and Devon; 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Elsie Duncan and sister Gwen Jeske. Private family funeral services were held on Friday, September 22, 2017. Randy was laid to rest in the Halkirk Cemetery.
