Obituary of Lilli Steinwand

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lilli Steinwand, in the Galahad Care Center on November 1, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Lilli is survived by her children: son Garry of Castor and his children Tammy (Frank), Wes (Jackie), Tanya, Mark (Lorie) and Amanda (Corry), children of son Vern of Hay River, NWT: Tommy, Pamela and Kellie, son Audi of Hay River, NWT and his children Emerick (Andrea), Quentin (Sheila) and Karl, son Kurt (Debra) of Calgary and their children Joshua (Amy) and Katelyn, son Ewald (Rhonda) of Castor and their children Erica, Cortney and Jared, son Norbert (Darcy) of Forestburg and their children Kyle (Brittany), Andrew, Brent (Della), Jason (Val), son Oswald (Deborah) of Castor and their children Ashley, Brittany, Celine, and Dalton, daughter Maggie (Barry) Hiebert of Calgary and their children Brandon and Brett; also left to cherish Lilli’s memory are 31 great grandchildren; her brothers: Alexander of Hamm, Germany, Arny of Aklavik, NWT and Norbert (Audrey) of Ryley, AB; sisters in law Elsie Steinwand of Red Deer and Gail Wozney of Edmonton; plus numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends. Lilli was predeceased by her loving husband Fred; son Vern; parents Alexander and Else; sisters Frieda and Hilda; brother Rudy; grandchildren (twins) Kyle and Chad Steinwand; Lucinda and Valeene Steinwand and Deanna Hiebert. Lilli will be greatly missed by the many lives she has touched. A funeral service for the late Lilli Steinwand will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Castor Community Hall, Castor, Alberta with Pastor Grant Sikstrom officiating. Donations in memory of Lilli are gratefully accepted to the Evangelical Missionary Church, Samaritan’s Purse or the Gideon Bible Society.
