Obituary of Emilia Pearl Schamber

Emilia (Beier) Schamber was born on August 20, 1918 in Compeer, Alberta; she passed away peacefully on August 22, 2016 two days after her 98th birthday in Edmonton, Alberta. Emilia was predeceased by her parents and her 7 brothers and 4 sisters; as well as her loving husband of 65 years John on January 28, 2008. Emilia is lovingly remembered by her seven children: Ray (Jan), Al (Carol), Larry, Wilf (Bonnie), Rick (Careen), Elaine (Brian), and Marlene (Randy). John and Emilia were married in 1943 and moved to Castor in 1949 and farmed until 1972, when they retired and moved into town. She was a member of the C.W.L. and the Royal Purple; she loved to cook, sew and play cards and especially loved to make quilts for her children and grandchildren. The highlight of her life was seeing her 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Emilia will be remembered forever in our hearts. Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Castor, Alberta with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 29, 2016.
