I enjoyed my years spent in Ruby's company - we had a lot of great discussions! I always admired her independence, she had a mind of her own and had strong opinions - that can be a challenge but also a trait I admire! Her faith was strong and unwavering. She loved you, her family, completely and always spoke to us with pride in her voice when talking about you. God bless.

Lavern, Nadene and the rest of Ruby's family: I want to express my sympathy to all of you in the loss of Ruby. The loss isn't Ruby's -- she's in heaven now, forever. Her family and other loved ones are the ones who will miss her so much now. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I should explain who I am. My husband was Ross Wideman, second son of Herbert Wideman, and first cousin of Ruby's husband, Harvey. In late June-July, 2000, Ross and I traveled west with Ross' brother, Lloyd and his wife, Margaret, and were there to celebrate Harvey and Ruby's 65th wedding anniversary with them and their family. We stayed overnight with Ruby and enjoyed our time with them very much -- also enjoyed visiting and having dinner at Lavern and Nadene's home. Harvey used to write to us at Christmas time. When he wasn't able Ruby wrote the letters. It was always good to hear from her. She will be missed !
