Obituary of Melville "Mel" Albert Knibbs

Melville Albert Knibbs was born on August 8, 1932 at home near Huntoon, Saskatchewan to parents Helena and Cecil Knibbs. Mel passed away peacefully with family by his side, March 19, 2015 at the age of 82 in Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital, Castor, Alberta. Mel leaves to mourn his passing, wife Alva; five children: Barbara, Larry (Colleen), Teresa (Bryan), Kim (Tammy) and Shelley (Keith); eight grandchildren: Curtis, Anthony, Rena, Dale, Justin, Jeremy, Christopher and Andrew; five great grandchildren: Ethan, Alyssa, Mackenna, Braylee and Peyton; his twin sisters Phyllis and Eileen; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and many dear friends. Mel was predeceased by his parents Helena and Cecil Knibbs; mother in law Nannie Potter and son in law Gerry Simpson. A celebration of Mel’s life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Knox United Church in Castor, Alberta with Reverend Barbara Zimmerman officiating. In memory of Mel donations may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Foundation.
