Obituary of Candace Joy Glasier

Please share a memory of Candace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Candace, our feisty little bundle of Joy, was born January 5, 1971. Her infectious smile and heart of gold shone brightly on her face. She developed a genuine interest in people at an early age, which transformed into a pure love of caring for others. Candace was able to put people at ease and soon was chatting away as though they were old friends. This came in handy whether during her years as a psychiatric nurse, a Tim Horton’s employee or during her many years in the hospitality trade. She was well thought of by her coworkers, and always possessed a strong work ethic. Her ambition was to re-enter the field of Psychiatric Nursing, after obtaining her refresher course. The pride and loves of her life, her greatest achievements, were her two loving children, Evania and Kristopher. To Candace, her children were her universe. Kristopher was the Sun that brightened her days, and Evania was the Moon that illuminated her nights. Evania and Kris will fondly remember spending nights at the farm or camping, gazing up at the night sky with their mother, pointing out constellations in the stars. Candace had an ongoing love of nature; trees, flowers and the wildlife around the farm were among her favourites – but she loved butterflies the most. She could always spot a butterfly in flight and would say we were getting a visit from lost loved ones. Candace was always a free spirit, and now her spirit is free to roam with the butterflies and stars. This last year, she spent with her parents, enjoying her children, extended family, and making friends, new and old. Her family will always cherish their family vacation to Mexico for Christmas 2013. Candace always commented on the beautiful greenery and humid air. Candace even tried her hand at snorkeling in Puertos Morellos and zip-lining in Selvatica, even if it made her heart pound out of her chest - she did it for her kids. Candace will be sadly missed by her parents Connie and Wayne Glasier, extended family and friends, her children Kristopher and Evania, and her cat, Spook – in Evania’s care. She was predeceased by her “big” little brother Steven, Grandpa and Grandma Glasier, Grandpa and Grandma Preston and her cherished pets Sugar and Jazz. Rest in Peace Our Darling A funeral service honoring Candace's life will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the Coronation Community Hall at 2:00 P.M. Memorial donations gratefully accepted to Canadian Mental Health - Red Deer District or a donation to plant a tree in Candace's memory.
