Margaret Lillian Fuller/Bateman passed away peacefully December 29th, 2013 in the Castor Extendicare; she had her 94th birthday on the 10th of December. Marg was born December 10, 1919 to Lily and Lewis Fuller, they lived in the Alliance/Tinchebray District. Marg was the 5th of eight children: Merton (Grace), Harry (Beatrice), Gordon (Cleda), Doris (Herman Fiisel), Marg (Jack Bateman), Douglas (Alice), Betty (Art Peacock), Carol (Cliff McDermott). Marg attended Tinchebray School and then studied Home Economics at Vermilion. Marg married Jack Bateman December 28, 1940 they ran a dairy farm north of Alliance, and then the Alliance UFA and International Harvester for 26 years, also hauling grain and coal for many years. Marg and Jack were parents to Dale and Judy. Dale Married Louella Couturier in 1967, they were blessed with: daughter Jennifer (Dean) and children James, Ryan, Darren (Janelle and daughter Payton) and Allison; three sons Dallas (Darla) children, Tyana (Jordan) and their children Mikayla and Ava, Tylin and son Jaxon, Dustin, Ally and Quinton; Trevor and children, Brooklynn and AJ; Chad (Megan) and children Dawson, Blade, Morgan, and Bennet. Marg and Jack were always very involved in the Alliance Community. Marg worked in Elliott's and Fallis' grocery stores, and the post office - she was known as the cake decorator for every worthy occasion in the community! Her organizations included UCW - a member for 50 years, teaching CGIT, Alliance Lions Ladies, the Alliance Curling Club, and Eastern Star. Marg was involved everywhere in the Alliance community, when she joined an organization it was as an active participant and a leader, there would have been very few households that weren't touched by her kindness in times of adversity, but she was equally involved in all the fun times too. She and Jack attended all the picnics, dances and celebrations and likely organized most of them. Marg continues to be noted for being a great neighbour always willing to lend a helping hand and enjoyed the laughter of life. We are all richer for having had Marg in our lives. When Marg decided, on her own, that the yard and housekeeping in Alliance were becoming too much to handle she downsized and lived in an apartment in Killam in 1992, in March of 1997 Marg moved to the self contained apartments in Castor, in 2008 she chose to live in the Paintearth Lodge in Castor, then with deteriorating health she entered Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Extendicare July 2012. Marg was predeceased by her husband Jack on March 15, 1989, and Grandson Kevin Wason June 1, 2003. Predeceased also by many of her siblings and their partners as well as many friends. She will be mourned by her immediate family Dale and Louella and their children and grandchildren, and Judy Wason and her children and grandchildren, and sister Carol (Cliff McDermott) and sister in law Alice Fuller.
