Obituary of Gene Davyduck

Gene Davyduck, 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home in Castor, Alberta. He was born July, 14, 1934 to Theodore and Mary Davyduck in Vita, Manitoba. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Gene grew up on a farm and always maintained a deep appreciation and love for nature and farm life. Moving west to Alberta in the late 1950’s, Gene would meet the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. Donna (Kookie) Fiss married Gene in Castor, Alberta on May 18, 1963. Gene so enjoyed trucking and did that for a number of years, covering much of Canada and travelling the ice roads in the north. His work would take him to the mining industry in B.C. where he would eventually retire. His love was music, playing and singing with many over the years, but his favorite was making music with his boys, Gene went to the west coast and did a recording session with his son Peter, one of many highlights in his life. Gene is survived by his spouse Kookie Davyduck of Castor, Alberta, his daughter Dale Anderson of Winnipeg, Manitoba, his son Darrell (Lorraine) Garceau of Westlock, Alberta, his son Kelly (Billie) Davyduck of Hardisty, Alberta, his son Cory (Arnissa) Davyduck of Castor, Alberta, his son Peter (Shelley) Davyduck of Langley, British Columbia, his grandchildren Beverly, Scott, Robert, Sarah, Edward, Melissa, Megan, Maddison, Abigail, and Coltrane his great-grandchildren Cody, Allison and Carter. Gene will be laid to rest on July 14 in Castor Cemetery.
