It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Annie Treleaven announces her passing at the age of 89 years young. She passed away peacefully with members of her family by her side on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor, Alberta. Marion was born in Hart, Saskatchewan on April 29, 1923 one of 13 children and step-children of Albert and Mabel White. She grew up on the family farm, and was educated in Coronach, Saskatchewan. In 1945 she married Victor Allen Treleaven in Scobie, Montana and had 3 children. Marion followed Victor to several communities in southern Saskatchewan with his work and in 1962 moved to Castor where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Marion worked for Collier’s Jewelry and Welcome Wagon and was actively involved in many local organizations and charities, including the Hospital Auxiliary and the Legion Auxiliary. Marion had a long association with St. John Lutheran Church and was one of the members of the committee tasked with raising funds to build the existing church. She served on Executive for many years and was always an active member of all church activities until her death. She was predeceased by her husband Victor in 1995, twelve of her brothers and sisters and son-in law Earl. She is survived by her children: Dodie (Paul) Marcil, Elaine Gano and Cyndi (Jack) Kelly; 8 grandchildren: Andrea Marcil, Chris (Jill) Marcil, Cliff (Ronda) Dimm, Crystal (Jason) White, Holly Gano, Laura (Shane) Thompson, Lianna Kelly and Shania Kelly; 8 great grandchildren: Janel Manerikar, Callie Manerikar, Zack Marcil, Sloane Marcil, Maddie Dimm, Holly Dimm, Kaiya White, Brayden Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. A celebration of Marion’s life will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Castor on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:00 pm, followed by interment at the Castor Legion Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family at the Castor Community Hall for a time of reminiscing and refreshments. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her memory to Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital - Extendicare.
