Please share a memory of Howard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Howard Gay Jackson was born to Clark and Carrie (Craddock) Jackson at Galahad AB on September 17, 1932 and passed away at Castor AB on August 2, 2012. He attended school at Tinchebray completing his Grade 9. Howard started farming with his brothers, Elmer and Arnold at a young age. Losing his own parents at an early age, Howard treasured family throughout his life. Family time was important to him and he created many family traditions that will live on forever.
Farming was one of the other passions he had which he did all his life in the Paintearth district north of Castor. He was a gifted herdsman and took great pride in his cattle. On January 29, 1955 Howard married Grace Mary Graydon. They resided on his grandfather Josephs’ homestead until they moved to Castor. To this union three children were born Randy, Greg and Shelley. Howard was very involved in his community playing an essential role at the Paintearth Community Centre and always willing to lend a hand to others. He spent his spare time at the Paintearth Gun Club, curling, and skiing. Howard loved to play cards and tell stories.
Howard and Grace moved to the Paintearth Lodge November 2008 where they met many new friends. Howard moved to Extendicare July of 2011. Howard`s laughter, smiles and singing will be missed by many.
