Douglas Emil Adolf was born September 9, 1960. He passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the age of 51 years.
His early life was spent on the family farm north of Fleet. Due to the untimely death of his father in 1966, Doug and his mother moved to the home in Castor where he continued to live the rest of his life.
Doug was a true outdoorsman. He worked and played in the outdoors. Friends remember the quad rides he enjoyed with them. Doug loved working with large equipment and road construction became his chosen career. He was a highly skilled conscientious worker who was always valued by his employer and fellow workers, not only for his work ethic but also for his good nature.
Doug's family was important and he was a devoted caregiver to his mother in her final years. Doug's life was characterized by hard work and loyalty to family and friends. His friends describe him as a good neighbour and a true gentleman. He will be missed by many.
Doug is survived by his family: Lorraine (Edwin – deceased) Adolf, Edith (George) Kopp, Roberta Boss, Herb – deceased (Ardena) Zinger, Lawrence (Ethel) Zinger, George “Dudley” (Eileen) Zinger; other family and many friends.
