Obituary of Kathleen Lucy Treeton

Kathleen Francis Lucy Treeton died on Wednesday September 21st 2011 at 87 years of age at the Coronation Hospital following a sudden stroke. Kathleen was born October 13th, 1923 in Tooting, London England, only daughter of George and Kathleen Macey. She had one brother George.
On 26th July 1947 Kathleen married Derrick Arthur Treeton and they lived in Leytonstone, London. Their son Michael Arthur was born in 1949, followed by daughter Linda Ann in 1953 and son William Eric in 1959.
Kathleen worked at the local Coop and later at the Nat West Bank in London where she made many life long friends.
Kathleen was very involved with Church Life; she belonged to the Girls Brigade in Tooting and later became a leader of the Anchor Boys at the Church in Leytonstone. She could always be found in the Kitchen making tea, helping with the church bazaar and being a friend to everyone. She would often find her kitchen at home filled with her children’s friends, it was always a place of comfort to them all. Kathleen found faith in the Fellowship Group and Family Club at the Church
Kathleen and Derrick shared 40 years of marriage together and after Derrick passed away in 1988 Kathleen took solace in her garden where she would spend hours tending to her flowers and vegetables.
Kathleen loved to travel and went on many trips with the church group but she always loved to go to Canada and visit with her daughter Linda. She eventually made the choice to go and live in Canada in 2008 and her last few years were spent living with Linda in Fleet Alberta. She enjoyed doing crafts, reading, watching Television, especially CSI and Tennis. She made many special friends during her time in Canada.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Derrick in 1988, Brother George William, Son in law Geoffrey John Grover (1992) and her parents Kathleen and George.
She is survived by her children:
Michael Arthur Treeton; Linda (Brian) Bunbury and William (Diane) Treeton. Her grandchildren, Nicholas Derrick, Bradley William, Travis Jordan and Gavin.
And three great grandchildren, Emily Anne, Erika Ann and Donovan Geoffrey Grover
Also survived by sister-in-law Elsie Macey; Brother-in-law Ted (Maude) Treeton and numerous other family and friends both in England and Canada
