Obituary of Thomas Trevor Jones

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thomas TREVOR Jones was born to William and Mary Jones on Nov 23, 1921 in Coronation. He was the only child born to William and Mary. Trevor also had a half brother and half sister. Trevor was raised on the family farm and took all his schooling up to grade eight at Sounding Creek School. Trevor had many great school day memories and never forgot anyone he went to school with, and talked often about his childhood friends. Trevor started working on the threshing crews at a young age and especially enjoyed working for the Glasier family. Trevor joined the Army and served for two years. He returned home to help his father farm and farmed until his health wouldn’t allow it any longer. Trevor took great pride in his farm and his cattle. He also took very good care of his dogs and cats. Trevor and Tom Evans did much of their farming together, so the Evans girls were very lucky to have almost had a second father so close by. Trevor took good care of his business and was a very good neighbor. Trevor enjoyed relatively good health with the exception of his hearing until January 2009 when his health quickly turned worse and he was forced to move into Designated Supportive Living in March 2009 and then on April 28, 2011 he moved again to Long Term Care, until his passing on August 6, 2011. He leaves to mourn, cousins, Colleen (Dan) Kinakin, Esther, Margaret, Angie and Barbie Evans, Reg (Ruby) Warnock and Alberta (Duncan) McKellar, Doug (Judy) Stannard, Eilleen Claridge, and half nephews, Don and Bob (Fran) Smith and Maria and Neil (Stella) Jones and their families and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Jones, his half brother, Teddy and his wife Ethel; half sister Mildred and her husband Bill; his half nephew Bob Jones, his cousins, Nancy Stannard and her husband Bill, and Thomas Evans. Funeral services were held at the Coronation Drop In Centre on August 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Gordon Grice officiating. Mrs. Donna Kelm, Dan Kinakin, Colleen Kinakin, Angela Evans, Barbie Evans and Margaret Evans shared their gifts of music with several of Trevor’s favourite songs. Barbie Evans gave a loving tribute of Trevor’s life, that they had the privilege to have shared with him. Dale Guse, Derold Black, Dave Glasier, Norman Black, Don Stephenson, Jeff Van Wert, Dallas (Harry) Hjorth and Dale Brigley served as Pallbearers as they carried him to the horse drawn hearse and then travelled to Coronation Cemetery where he was laid to rest beside his cousin Tom Evans. Honorary Pallbearers were Averil Benson, Donna Kelm, Russ and Micky Kinakin, Art Embree, Max and Edna Heidecker, Darrell Fiss, Orville Brigley and Mervin Brigley. Family and friends gathered back at the Drop In Centre for a time of fellowship and a luncheon by the Federal Friendship Club. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
