Obituary of William Raymond Graham

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William “Bill” Raymond Graham passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Bill was born in Byemoor Alberta, the second son of George and Ina Graham. At a young age the family moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia where Bill attended school. When Bill was 16 the family returned to Byemoor and he began work as a farm labourer. Bill married the love of his life Frances Carless on August 29, 1953 and began working on the railroad. In the mid 50’s they built a home and began farming in the Byemoor area. Farm life started out very difficult, being hailed out the first three years, but through hard work, faith and determination they persevered. Love, family, friends and fun were the mainstays in Bill’s life. Bill enjoyed family, friends, farming and the outdoors. He actively participated in hunting, fishing, playing horse shoes, curling and playing cards. He also enjoyed travelling, going on cruises, cross Canada trips, but most of all he and Frances enjoyed winters in Apache Junction, Arizona together for over 27 years. Bill had a deep appreciation for the new GPS “straight line” farming after having to continuously straighten up after his children’s cultivating skills and never tired of pointing this out to them. Bill is survived by his son Jim (Lynn) Graham of Byemoor and daughter Marylin (Jim) Norlie of Craigmyle; grandchildren Greg Graham (Dora Simonin) Graham of Byemoor, Jennifer (Charles) Williams of Hanna, Allan (Kelsey) Norlie of Craigmyle; as well as many other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Frances, parents Ina and George, and step father Osbert Jackson, brother George, parents in law Frank and Mary Carless. Funeral Service Friday, May 3, 2019 Byemoor Community Hall Byemoor, Alberta 2:00 PM Memorial Donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or a charity of your own choice.
