Eileen was born on February 2, 1929 in Eatonia, Saskatchewan to Pete and Elsie Wagner. At about eight years old, Eileen and her parents, Pete and Elsie, along with her sister Ruth and brother Ivan, moved from Laporte, Saskatchewan to Byemoor, Alberta. There were a few major moves in Elieen’s life, the first winter in 1937, they lived on the “Grundy” place. The next year, they moved to the “Wood” Farm. In 1943, the family bought the “Pat Hayes” place. During this time, they endured some difficult financial struggles. Eileen often shared the story of making pillows out of thistle fluff and that there were terrible cracks in the soil from the drought. Eileen attended the Asdee school and worked for her mother in the grocery store in Byemoor.

On June 23, 1949, Eileen married the love of her life Bob at the Stettler United Church. Eileen and Bob were blessed with three children, Diane, Dale and Denee. They farmed most of their life in the Byemoor area and created many friends in the community. Eileen enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going to ladies’ bonspiels in Byemoor and creating music for others to enjoy. Eileen and Bob loved to travel and go on many adventures with their family and friends, creating many memories, and laughs.

Eileen and Bob moved to Stettler in their retirement years, then eventually moving to Points West were Bob passed away in 2021. Eileen remained in Points West until her passing.

Eileen will be deeply missed by her family and many dear friends for her joyous laughter and sense of humour, and her incredible memory and stories of the past. Eileen left the world a better place than she found it.

Eileen is survived by her children Dale (Dee) Green of Byemoor, AB and Deneen (Neil) Brown of Erskine, AB; son-in-law Dwayne Potter of Red Deer, AB; grandchildren: Trina Leisen of High River, AB, Travis (Tonille) Potter of Red Deer, AB, Derek (Angela Dias Carneiro) Green of Calgary, AB, Delaine (Jonathan) Bennett of Calgary, AB,  Dara (Cody) Hallett of Byemoor, AB, Danny (Ashley) Brown of Erskine, AB and Daylon (Jon) Rairdan of Erskine, AB; great grandchildren:  Kaiden, Dominic, Everlee, Peyton, Lauren, Jackson, Nathan, Rowen, Deacon, Mason, James, Kensley, Braxley and Josephine; as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband Bob; parents Elsie and Peter Wagner; daughter Diane Potter; granddaughter Amy Brown; grandson-in-law Ryan Leisen; brother Ivan Wagner and sister Ruth Patterson.
