Violet Margaret Schnell of Castor, Alberta passed away peacefully at Castor Extended Care, Castor, Alberta on April 23, 2026 at the age of 80 years.

Violet was born in Castor, Alberta on January 10, 1946.  Here parents were Adam and Bertha Schnell.  Violet attended school in Balwark, in Beaver School and finally at the Castor School.

Violet had many interests throughout her life. She especially loved watching hockey and was honoured with a certificate recognizing her as the most dedicated minor hockey league fan. She also enjoyed music, photography, and spending time completing word searches. Violet had a special fondness for children and enjoyed being around them.

She worked briefly in the housekeeping department at the Castor Hospital and took pride in her work.

Violet was also actively involved in her community and participated in various local activities over the years.

Violet is survived by her sister, Marilyn Watson; niece Marion (Jared) Desbiens; nephew Craig (Melissa) Watson; great nieces Ruby Watson and Scarlett Watson; other relatives and many friends.

Violet was predeceased by parents Adam and Bertha Schnell.
