In Loving Memory

Kenneth “Wayne” McDavid Anderson

September 18, 1951 ~ February 20, 2026

Kenneth “Wayne” McDavid Anderson passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, at the age of 74 on February 20, 2026, in Red Deer, Alberta. Wayne was born in Stettler, Alberta on September 18, 1951, the eldest son of Lois “Doreen” (McDavid) Anderson and George “Geordie” Archibald Anderson. He was raised on the family farm near Buffalo Lake and attended school in Erskine, Stettler and later SAIT.

Wayne began his mechanic career at McTaggart Motors in Stettler and continued his apprenticeship with Red Deer Motors. He married Charlotte LaRose in 1972 and together they started their family with the birth of Jason Joseph Anderson in 1973. At that time, Wayne’s love of racing was in full swing, and he was a force to be reckoned with. In 1974, they moved back to Stettler where Wayne worked at Stettler Tire as a brake and alignment specialist. In 1976 their daughter Janelle Louise Anderson was born.

Wayne later worked for his father-in-law at LaRose Construction, trucking and operating heavy equipment, before moving on to farming with his brother Dale. He then transitioned into the fertilizer business with McKay Fertilizer and Alix Fertilizer. A new and treasured chapter began when he became a grandfather, loving every moment spent making memories with his grandchildren. Never one to resist a challenge, Wayne returned to operating a CAT with RM Oilfield before retiring in April 2018. Throughout the years Wayne and Charlotte also owned and operated Designer Frames, together, building a successful family business.

Retirement was filled with seeding and harvesting on the Stevens View Farm, attending car shows with his Model T’s, fishing, morning coffees with new friends and learning the art of woodworking -  gifts he made that every family member will cherish forever. Wayne’s passions included fishing, hunting, racing, motorcycling, camping, traveling, woodworking, and most of all spending time with family. He is also survived by two great grandchildren who will grow up hearing the many wonderful stories of his legacy.

In his final years, his health declined and life slowed down. He found comfort in simple daily rituals, enjoying a cigar and pop in the afternoon. Above all else Wayne cherished family time, always making moments into memories.

Anyone who new Wayne loved his laugh and the stories he was eager to tell. The memories shared with him will never be forgotten by his friends and family.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Charlotte (LaRose) Anderson; son ~ Jason Anderson; daughter ~ Janelle Kowaluk (Marty Moncrieff); grandchildren ~ Breanna (Dallyn) Bissett, Brody Anderson (Rayel Copan), Brittany Anderson (Rhett Norman), Bryson Anderson, Brayden (Skye) Kowaluk, Brooklyn Kowaluk (Kory Brooks); great grandchildren ~ Jaxon Bissett and Bentley Kowaluk; brother ~ Dale (Bev) Anderson; other relatives and friends.

Predeceasing Wayne are his mother ~ Lois “Doreen” Anderson; father ~ George “Geordie” Archibald Anderson; grandson ~ Branden Wade Kowaluk and nephew ~ Mark Anderson
