Obituary of Gerald Ross Brittain
Gerald "Jerry" Brittain
March 22, 1944 ~ February 13, 2026
Jerry was born to parents Amy and Roland Brittain in Delburne, Alberta on March 22, 1944. He had many good memories of his time growing up in the Great Bend Community area with his brothers and sisters. He passed away surrounded by family on February 13, 2026 at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre.
Jerry and his family enjoyed many activities. He was an avid volunteer in hockey and baseball and enjoyed competing in these sports, too. In addition to sports, he had many hobbies: hunting, camping, watching his grandchildren and doing anything with his family.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Sharron Brittain; daughter Sherrilee Brittain (Martin Freigang) and son Mike Brittain; grandchildren: Jarret Hampton (Candace Hampton), Kiersten Brittain (Dylan Haydon) and Jordan Brittain; brother Gale Brittain (Cheryl Shuckburgh); sister Muriel Bellamy; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbours.
Honoring Jerry’s wishes there will be no funeral.
Memorial donations in Jerry’s memory are graciously accepted to Alberta Cancer Foundation, U of A, 11560 University Drive Ave, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2, www.albertacancer.ca or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
