Obituary of Jacqueline Elizabeth Dietrich
Jacqueline Elizabeth Dietrich
August 25, 1944 ~ January 29, 2026
Jacquie was born to parents Cecil and Elsie Anderson in Wallasey, England. She lived a full life and went to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse all while raising four daughters on her own. She was proud to be a professional caregiver and after moving to Alberta in 1981 she worked at The Fanning Centre until her retirement.
Shortly after arriving in Alberta, she met the love of her life in Paul Dietrich. They were married on a beautiful summer day in June of 1984. They had many adventures, happy times playing horseshoes, bowling, baseball and golf.
Mum was a great seamstress and found immense joy in creating with her hands. Sewing graduation and bridesmaid dresses, crocheting blankets and gowns, and in her later years, painting. She was well known for her pies and pastries, a fantastic baker.
After retirement, they settled in Halkirk where she found a community and more close friends. When she joined the Halkirk Elks, she took pride in being an active member. She helped many residents and neighbors in Halkirk and touched so many lives there. She and dad joined +55 and attended Senior’s Games all over Alberta. She loved going to Mexico each year for a nice warm break from the wintry weather.
Her last years were spent busy in the community, golfing at the Castor Golf Club and Saturday Night Card nights with Leona and Darryl.
Jacquie passed away peacefully and on her own terms at the Red Deer Hospital on January 29th, 2026, at the age of eighty one.
Jacquie is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Paul Dietrich; daughters: Melinda (Paul) Keen, Diana (Doug) Thwaites, Linda Fekete and Stephanie (Frank) Tracanelli; grandchildren: Adrian, Skyler (Shelbi), Michael, Ethan and Christina; great grandchildren Asa and Ares; siblings: Doug Anderson, Dennis Anderson and Shirley Shea; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Jacquie was predeceased by her parents Cecil and Elsie Anderson; brother Gordon Anderson; and sister Lynn Morawetz.
