Douglas John Charles Pivert

June 6, 1958 ~ January 17, 2026

Doug was born in Stettler on June 6, 1958, where he was raised but always spent summers at his family’s cabin at Rochon Sands. Eventually the family moved to Rochon Sands full time until he graduated and found his own path.

After high school, Doug began his working career in the Alberta oilfield and spent over fourty years across multiple companies and specialties.

Colleen and Doug began their family in the hamlet of Botha where their kids were raised to adulthood and began families of their own.

The years were filled with many camping adventures, as well as summers spent mostly at Buffalo Lake. Memories of almost being wounded while tubing behind that boat will stay with his children forever. The rest of the year was filled with road trips across the province, both for ‘ride alongs’ and kids’ sports.

Doug and Colleen eventually retired to Rochon Sands full time where he was fond of the “quiet” laid back atmosphere he could find there. After a lifetime of working on the road, tranquility was his most treasured experience.

Doug passed away peacefully in his home, in his sleep, an end we know he would not have disliked.

Doug leaves to mourn his wife of 40 years, Colleen Pivert; children: James (Jessica) Pivert, Nadine Pivert, Toni (Troy) Wiggins, Renee (Ryan) Miller; grandkids: Morgan (Kameron), Makenna (Alex), Jordan, Jaxson, Charlie and Finley; great grandkid Evelyn; siblings Ken (Kathy) Pivert and Theresa Thiessen; sister-in-law Peggy (Mike) Weinzierl; nephews: Dustin (Erin), Tyler, Cody (Kelsey), Kevin (Nikki), Rob (Heather) and Andrew (Amanda); other family and friends.

Doug is predeceased by parents Kay and George Pivert; brother Donnie Pivert; parents-in-law Donna and Charles Freemann.
