Obituary of Fredrick Gordon Bettger
Fred (Freddie) Bettger
November 16, 1970 – November 7, 2025
We remember and celebrate the life of Fredrick “Freddie” Bettger. Fred was the son of Judy and Robin (passed in 2000) Bettger and big brother to Mike and Bobbi. As the first grandchild, he was cherished from the start. He was a thoughtful child; careful with his things, tidy, smiley, and quick to learn. He loved being outside, naming cars with his dad, riding bikes, visiting the park, and protecting his younger siblings. Even as he grew older, these early memories stayed close to those who loved him.
In his twenties, Fred enjoyed camping, mountain biking with his cousin Richard, playing softball, and joining Mike for soccer or basketball. These were good, simple years filled with family, activity, and shared time.
Life found its true shape with Corrin. He loved coming home to her, watching movies side-by-side; especially horror, sci-fi, Star Wars, and anything they could enjoy together. Their nicknames, Shrek and Chiquita, held the warmth of a long marriage built in the everyday moments. Celebrating 25 years together this year meant a great deal to him.
Fred’s greatest love was being a husband and father. When his kids were younger, he played games with Joshua and helped him through homework, even when math tested everyone’s patience. With Harlie, he collected rocks and gems, and she later shared his love of spooky movies. These pieces of their childhood with him are treasured memories.
Fred always did the Christmas shopping and loved giving to the people he cared most about. He spoke often of his gratitude for Corrin and all she carried for their family. Those who spent time with him remember his honesty, kindness, and straightforward way of being. He didn’t pretend or put on airs; he was simply himself.
Fred is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Corrin; children Joshua Bettger and Harlie Bettger; mother Judy Bettger; as well as numerous extended family; many dear friends.
Fred is predeceased by his father Robin Bettger.
Goodbye to Freddie, a man steady and sincere, loved by his family and remembered with warmth.
