Finn Christiansen

1935 ~ 2025

Finn äAge Christiansen of Stettler passed away peacefully at Stettler Hospital on November 4, 2025 at the age of 90 years.

Finn was born in Lundeborg, a small fishing village in Denmark. He attended school until he was 14 when he began working on farms to make a living. After landing in Canada at 20 years old, he began working on a farm in Saskatchewan and later moved to work on another farm in Pridis, Alberta.

While driving for a cement company, he wound up in Calgary where he met Beverley and eventually married her on December 27, 1965. After they got married, Finn applied to Canadian Western Natural Gas and was hired after a lot of persistence. He worked for them for 31 years before retiring at the age of 61 years.

Finn and Beverley welcomed a son in 1967 and later a daughter in 1971. Finn and Beverley separated in 1985 going their own ways and divorced in 2010.

Finn had many hobbies like oil painting, woodworking and gardening, and he later developed a knack for puzzles. He loved his daily outings of scootering around town, and meeting friends for a game of crib or shuffleboard at the Legion and shuffleboard at Paragon.  He also always looked forward to afternoon coffee time at the Legion. All he wanted was a smile and a conversation. He cherished the kindness of others.

Finn is survived by his son Eric (Noella) Christiansen; daughter Sally (Brad) Schneider; grandchildren Jennie, Chmelyk, Sharalynn Saarela, Miranda Williams, Nathan Schneider and Desiree (Corey) O’Donaghue; great grandchildren Micheal, Willow, Sawyer, Saleen, Kyler, Merrick, Mia, Ryder and Dennis, as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
