In Loving Memory of

Dorothy Stewart

July 11, 1930 ~ October 10, 2025

Dorothy Ermgarde Kube was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on July 11, 1930 to Sarah and Adolph.  She had one sister Susie and three brothers, Al, Bill and Gord.

In 1951 she was married to Keith Stewart in Weyburn.  They were blessed with three children: Greg, Kevin and Karen.  They lived in Swift Current until their move to Stettler in 1963.  There, they purchased Lou’s Fashions and had many hardworking years devoted to their Stettler Community until they retired in 1984.  Roadhaven in Apache Junction, Arizona was her winter home for many years.  She enjoyed playing a bit of golf but LOVED to play cards.  She was an avid bridge player – even making it to Nationals with her dear friend Elaine Williams.

After losing Keith in 1991, she continued going South with friends and played a lot more bridge.

In 1991 she started a new chapter in her life and married long time family friend Doug Shupe.  Together they continued to travel South in the winters to join their many friends in Roadhaven.  They resided in Spruceview Terrace Condos in Stettler where they enjoyed being close to their kids and grandkids.  Some bus trips and going to Mexico with their timeshare kept them busy.  Soon after Doug passed away in 2010.  Dorothy moved into Willow Creek Lodge where she had many friends and visitors.  She loved to be taken out for a day trip to visit family or play bridge with her friends.

The Spring of 2025 saw her transfer to Points West.  She continued her weekly hair appointments right up to her passing.  She passed peacefully on October 11 with her family by her side.

She had a genuine love for others.  Her favorite saying was:

“To have a friend you have to be one”  That plaque stayed on her wall til the day she passed.

She was an inspiration of what kindness should be.

She leaves behind many friends and family that will continue to show that kind spirit towards others.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her family, sons Greg (Judy) Stewart and Kevin (Susan) Stewart; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Neil (Sarah) Stewart and their children Taylor, Jayden, Kyle, Jaymes,  Blaine (Sabrina) Stewart, Kristen (Lou) Handley and their children Jaxon and Kai, Jamy (Chais) McRae and their children Harper and Banks, Jordan Stewart and his children Bentley and Marlee, Kaitlin (Darren) Tardif and their child Remi, Courtney Vinet (Nicole  Brown); the Doug Shupe family, other relatives, and many dear friends and caregivers.  Dorothy was predeceased by her husbands Keith Stewart and Doug Shupe; daughter Karen Vinet and grandson Graden Vinet.
