The McDonald family remembers Larry with admiration. He and Barbara had an adventurous life of assignments overseas and in Canada. We were privileged to share with them three years accomplishing an academic project in East Africa. We also shared time on the Kenya coast and safaris throughout the region. We send our condolence to Barbara and family.

Dear Barb and family, Phyllis, Alanna, Derek and I were saddened to learn of Larry's passing. Forever in our memories will be the wonderful times we shared during our 3 years together in Kenya. We were also so pleased to meet up again with both of you in Abu Dhabi when you visited from Kuwait. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the entire family. Howard and Phyllis Armitage

It was with profound sadness that we learned of Larry's passing. We were introduced to Larry and Barbara (Barb) by mutual friends while wintering in Sun City West, Arizona and became close friends over the years. We cherished our friendship and enjoyed the dinners, golfing, card games, Mexican Train, Billiards and other activities. Both Larry and Ernie liked Scotch and many an evening was spent having a wee dram of some of Scotland's finest. To Barbara and family we offer our sincerest condolences. God Bless.

What a grand gentleman was Larry. His keenly tuned perspective on most any topic was one of many qualities that made him a unique and interesting fellow. And the as-mentioned gentle humour, with accompanying grin, were so very enjoyable. Our chats about Stettler’s many valued citizens was a big factor in initiating the Stettler Community Builders program. Larry brought much to this world and we are poorer without him in it any longer. Sharon and I send our heartfelt condolences to Barb and family.

I knew Larry for most of my life. We shared many wonderful times throughout our lives including being at each other’s wedding. He and Barb lived a life of adventure and I know she will miss him deeply. Ron and I send our deepest condolences to her and her family. With our love, Ron and Judy Sills

My cousin Larry led the most interesting life of anyone I know..What he achieved as a boy from a small town is truly remarkable. He had the best sense of humour, which made a weeklong visit to our home in BC one of the greatest weeks of my life, as he and another cousin (Millie) competed in trying to out prank each other. He was so kind and interested in everyone, and had so many special moments with our family- my daughter had her first “grown up” dance with Larry at another cousin’s wedding. He was a wonderful son to my aunt Hazel, and he and Barb looked after her every need as long as he could, with Barb carrying on. He will be sorely missed, and thank you Barb for all you have done.
