Mary Elaine Williams (Thomas)

January 11, 1937- June 8, 2025

A Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Nana, Friend, Voice of an Angel

She went peacefully with her family by her side.

Elaine was born on January 11, 1937 in Ystradgynlais, Wales and received her education there. 

It was in Wales that Elaine met and married the late Brian Williams on March 29, 1958.  In September of 1960 Elaine and Brian immigrated to Stettler, Alberta, Canada, where they remained for the duration of their lives. 

Daughter Lisa was born in 1966 and son Jason was born in 1969.  For 25 years Elaine was the Elementary School secretary.  She loved her job and all the children, who remember her fondly. 

Elaine was very active in the Lioness Club, Stettler Food Bank and the United Church choir.  In her later years she loved singing with the Happy Gang.

She was known for her kindness and giving nature, as well as her sense of humour.  She was loved by all who knew her. 

Elaine is survived by her daughter Lisa Thompson of Leduc; son Jason Williams (Aletha) of Sylvan Lake; grandchildren Jason Thompson (Brooklyn) of Whitecourt, Kendra Thompson of Stony Plain, Olivia Williams and Leah Williams, both of Edmonton, Heather Williams of Sylvan Lake; brother Gil Thomas (Danielle) of Wales; brother Brian Thomas of Scotland; brother-in-law/sister-in-law Gordon and Margaret Williams of Red Deer; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Elaine is predeceased by her loving husband of 31 years Brian Williams; parents, George and Gladys Thomas of Wales; sister and brother-in-law Hazel  and John Pullen of Wales; son in law, Dereck Thompson of Whitecourt; sister-in-law/brother-in-law, Megan  and Bill Napier of Wales.
