Urban Anthony Muyres

May 24, 1932 ~ March 5, 2025

Urban Anthony Muyres was born in Forestburg, Alberta. He married Annette Duport on April 2, 1956, and they lived in the Paintearth area for 24 years. They raised seven kids. He farmed and worked at the Manalta Coal Mine. He also owned a gas station in Castor for a while. Annette loved to sew and made a quilt for each grandchild. She loved her flowers and had a huge garden. Urban and Annette moved to Rocky Mountain House in 1980. They were there for 29 years, then retired and moved to Stettler in 2009.

Urban will be sadly missed by their children: Duanne (Connie) Muyres, Brenda (Darren) Haupt, Barry (Ruth) Muyres, Mona Muyres and son-in-law Glen Wishart; grandchildren: Nadine (Doug) Albrecht, Lee (Candy) Degenstein, Mary Delaney (JD Nickels), Dylan (Morgan) Haupt, Lindsey Haupt, Joram (Paige) Muyres, Nathan Muyres, Skylar (Dylan) Kutz, Raygan Muyres and Tyson Yeomans; great grandchildren: Wyatt and Carson Albrecht, Fallyn Degenstein, Beckitt and Bowen Haupt; step grandchildren: Marci (Terry) Smith, Kerrie (Jasen) Jordan, Jamie Wishart; nine step great grandchildren and five step great great grandchildren; brother Lavern Muyres; sister Donna Krysko; siter-in-law Emma Holden; as well as many extended family and dear friends.

Urban was predeceased by his loving wife Annette in 2020; children: Phyllis Wishart, Betty Dilley and Glenn Muyres.

Urban and Annette went on many trips with family and friends. He enjoyed playing his guitar and they both enjoyed playing cards, making puzzles, camping and fishing. Urban’s last few years were spent in a couple of senior lodges where he enjoyed puzzle making, up until his passing on March 5, 2025.
