Since moving to Stettler as a fairly Newlywed couple almost 25 years ago right up until now, Dave has been a significant influence and support for our entire family. Over the years this role has changed in its capacity from the spiritual leader who baptized myself and my children to the handyman that has left his fingerprint on every corner of my business. But regardless of the role he played or the ‘work’ that he did, his fatherly love remained ever present and steadfast. This is what we will miss the most. Rhonda and Danny Missikewitz

I have so many memories of the fish that David and I caught together and the wisdom that Dave imparted to me as we drove to our favorite fishing place or were sitting in our float tubes on a quiet lake. It was an honor to have known him. One of the bowls that he carved will remind me of him.

Dave was a big part of my spiritual journey in my younger days. I recall as a teenager, thinking that I actually understood his messages and found them meaningful. He provided pre-marital counselling and married my late husband Brian and I. Several years later, while attending a workshop at the church, we had a discussion about how the Bible was a document written by the people of that time and that we needed to view it as such. This was an awakening for me, and I found myself telling him that I finally felt that I actually belonged in the church because I didn't need to (literally) believe everything the Bible said to be a Christian. Dave provided a safe, realistic, practical way to worship and to serve. His kindness never wavered and I will always remember him with fondness and gratitude.

I met Dave when his work as a contractor was referred to me -- back in 2009. He did a variety of things for me over time, from renovating my bathroom to installing new kitchen counters to solving the riddle of a blocked pipe under my kitchen floor. We shared a love of theology and had fun discussing a variety of topics from my Anglican viewpoint and his United Church viewpoint. I could always count on him to direct me to the right place for repairs that he couldn't do for me. As an artist, I appreciated his wife Trish's work and I own one of her mugs -- it's a favourite of mine when I have tea. I will miss his straightforward outlook on life and his handsome, cheerful grin. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be for a blessing.

We considered Dave to be a good family friend. He was an excellent carpenter who upgraded our laundry room in our basement and helped with the major renovation of our office building. He was always available for a chat or consultation on any projects we had in mind. He will be missed by us and the many others he helped along the way.

I'm a friend of Lisa's and was lucky enough to be invited to a few of their holiday dinners over the years, where I met Mr Denholm. He was always curious, kind and welcoming, and will be missed. Sending my condolences and lots of love to the Denholm's.

Dave. Thank you for your wisdom, your humor, your empathy, and your faith. From helping me prepare my recycling committee pitch for the rotary club, to your meaningful and insightful perspective in conversation about heavy topics, and your seemingly un-ending patience when we worked together... I will forever be grateful for all that you've taught me.
See ya on the flip side, hug my child for me when you see him there.
Much love, Sandy. ♡
