Girletz Randy posted a condolence
Monday, January 31, 2022
From Maxine Girletz and the Girletz families. Mom was devastated when she was notified of the passing of Evelyn. Evelyn was one of her dearest friends and had been like a sister from the first time they met. They enjoyed traveling together throughout North America as well as attending many of our events and rodeos, Evelyn took a personal interest in our lives, as she graciously did with all her friends and family. She was one of those kind, honest and loyal people that are rare to find and even more heartbreaking to loose. On behalf of the Girletz families we deeply regret your loss of Evelyn.

Didn’t know what to say about this. When I heard I was speechless. Hated to believe it. My cousin Tracy put it in perspective for me. Thank you. Auntie Evelyn was a light. She attracted so many people to her with her smile and attitude. Spending my summers when I was a little girl there were memories I’ll alway cherish. She alway was trying to make a girl out of me by putting me in dresses. Making me wear rags in my long hair so it would be pretty. She had me done up one day for a birthday party. I went swimming with the boys. Dress and all. She was so mad lol. Didn’t last long though. When mom and her got together there wasn’t a thing they would try to do. They could take over the world those two.
I’m going to miss seeing her and her welcoming smile. I know her and mom and the rest of the family we have lost are sitting there either having coffee or a drink playing smear like they use to do when I was small
R.I.P. Auntie. I’ll see you when I get there.

Auntie was a classy lady! I have so many fond memories! Family gatherings, spending times there on holidays and summer vacations, delivering meals to the fields with her. When Deb or I would visit she wasn’t the only female in the house and I think she enjoyed the female company! I’ll never forget going to Rods birthday party one year. Being a city girl, I wanted to where a dress, auntie wasn’t sure it was such a great idea, but of course I did any way. So there I was swinging on a rope in the barn and running thru fields in my dress! I Should of listened! Auntie was full of knowledge and was always a go to for kobi family history. She was there when mom was sick, she was there for dad when mom passed away, and got him out doing things . She was so full if life and energy, like a bright star entering a room!! Some of my favourite times was at the old farm up on the hill, where I would try to help, but probably got in the way more often then not, but she never said a word as we went about baking, cooking or cleaning! Auntie you will be so greatly missed and I will always hold all my good memories close to my heart.! Love Cathy!

Was sad to see that Evelyn had passed, we didn’t meet very often but when we did I loved that she made a person feel like a lifetime friend …on trips I was fortunate to have met up with her on a bus trip and another time in the airport …such a smile and friendly nature she had , From the list of everyone who has pre deceased her ,she will be busy hugging and visiting and if there’s any planning of get togethers , Evelyn will be right in her glory …the families will miss their Mom and grandma and GG (great grandma ) and their auntie Evelyn ….and it is all the memories that we have of Evelyn that we keep in our hearts until we meet again ❤️

Evelyn was a wonderful friend. I always enjoyed my times with her. She was not judgmental and accepted people as they are. She made me feel comfortable and that I was a good friend as I am sure she did with all her friends. She was one of a kind and will be missed by many. Rest in Peace, Evelyn.
