My sympathy to the families of Mr. Morie. It was always my pleasure to have a visit with this genuinely nice man. He was my grade 9 teacher but over the years remained interested in me and I in Sam. It was a pleasure to have him in the Lodge briefly while I was there - but my love and respect wasn't enough to hold him! In school Sam had me stay after school and learn a poem if I was talking too much and disruptive in class - I learned enough poetry that year to make Tennyson envious. But also got to visit with my really nice teacher in those after hours. You will have some amazing memories and Dad stories to share for forever, you girls have been such a wonderful support to your parents - proving what a good job they did raising you.

Sam was my teacher when I was in Bulwark school. I remember him fondly from when I was his student and when I was a teacher myself in Paintearth School Division.
My sympathy in your loss of a great example of a fine teacher.

Sincerest condolences to the Morie Family for your loss.
Mr. Morie taught me in grade 9. His dry humor was delightful!
We never missed an opportunity to speak when we met.
He remembered me, and I cherish my memories of him.

Bev, Becky, Monica and families: Our sincere sympathy to you all in the loss of your father. Thinking of you all and wishing you warm memories to comfort you at this sad time.
THE DASH(By Linda Ellis)
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on his tombstone, from the beginning . . . to the end.
He noted that first came the date of his birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that he spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own, the cars . . . the house. . . the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our Dash….

Since we will not be attending Sam's memorial I would like to send thoughts and prayers to the family, especially Helen. Mary-Marie Christensen and I were flower girls (I was 4 years old) at your parents wedding and I can remember that day so well. Mary-Marie and I attended some special anniversaries of your parents. Your father was the teacher at the Woodlake School the year before I started there. Give your mom a special hug for me. Sincerest thoughts, Dariel
