I am very honored to have known Mr Art Cole , he was a very important figure in the lives of many young baseball players , such as myself . Art helped mound the onfield and off field morals of every young man he came in contact with. His activities also included supplying rides , supplying a spare baseball glove and feeding , if necessary . Unfortunately, for most of us young people , it wasn't until later in life that we truly realized the true value to the community of a pilar such as Art. My father always described Art as the " Most honest man he ever knew "! And He truly was exactly that ! I was very lucky to have met Art and Kurt when I was at the Fairfield Cemetery last summer , I had a chance to thank him .
Condolences to all his family . I am sure its a very difficult time . All of us a very proud of Art and his good will to everyone whose lives he touched ! Every time I see a baseball , I see ART COLE.
